As a horticulturist and designer at High Glen Gardens in Frederick, Maryland, one of my responsibilities was designing and installing seasonal container gardens around the estate. Certain containers had specific color scheme requirements, while others simply harmonized with the gardens nearby.
In the summer, I combined spectacular tropical plants with summer annuals including coleus, petunias, calibrachoa, sweet potato vine, and many others.
