Dry Stream Bed Restoration

A drainage area on the grounds of High Glen Gardens was converted from lawn to planted garden bed in order to mitigate mowing issues and create a colorful display that could be viewed from the road. The owner preferred the “designed look” rather than a natural mixed planting, so plants were grouped into drifts.

Plants used in the design were native to Maryland or cultivars of natives.
